Bathing Beauty

images - Australian Country Style
How could you not want to dive into a candle lit, bubble bath (minus children), with Frank Sinatra crooning in the background?? I love an all white Bathroom...one day it will be mine.
This one is perfect, complete with a big M...for Marley of course, and that divine Chandelier.
I will need a relaxing bath at some point over the weekend...our littlest button turns 2!!
What ever you are doing, have a great one. Ness xx

Art And Ghosts

"Ruby"

"Ribbons"

"Parasole"

"Penny farthing"

I am having a Etsy post today, to show you these delightful prints from Art And Ghosts, which remind me a lot of one of my favourite Artists...Maggie Taylor. I love the antiquity to the backgrounds and, of course the whimsical nature of the subjects...love, love ,love them.

That's all from me today. I have 101 things to do. Hope everyone is well...Ness xx

For Lack Of A Better Word...

All of these images come from Pheobe Howard.
A Woman with enormous talent, and she knows how to work a room.
This Armoire is gorgeous against those Linen Chairs. I must admit, I am becoming a huge fan of the icy greens and blues...so not my usual colours. I love teal blues and sage greens.
Oh well.

A grandly comfortable room. It look beautiful, but I can imagine the kids playing in there too. What is it about White Orchids? Love them. They just make a display, don't you think?

Phoebe's use of symmetry is evident everywhere, especially here. All of the natural palette she has used here works so well with the pebble floor (not a choice of mine though), black counters and that divine light fitting.

Stunning entryway. A work of art in white and black. It is very Hampton's/ Beach House. Once again, love the light fitting...and the old photos. Have a great day. Ness xx

Thought Provoking...

NordLiving is an eclectic mix of Scandinavian beauty...and it's here in Australia.

Cotton Love, I have posted on before...what's not to love. Earthy, tactile Home wares that will fit with any style. I love the Hurricane lamps and the store lighting, actually, I love everything in the picture.

Ah! The Vintage Rose, here in Launceston, would have to be my favourite store to visit. I have also posted on this shop before. Sorry about the photo quality, it was a Sunday, and it was closed, so these pics are coming to you through the front window.

I could spend HOURS in this shop. There definitely needs to be a Husband bench outside this place.

I know, this isn't a shop. It is my little unit in our Dinning area that my Dad made. I am planning to use this in the shop as a display unit, after I give it another coat of paint and sand back the shelves to wood...it reminds me of a beautiful piece from The Vintage Rose.

There is a piece of me in each of these stores, and I would like to think that M&L will be a good mix of each. Have a nice day...Ness xx

Beds And Beauty...

image - Lazybones
Today, I have spent most of the day looking at products for the shop (hence the last post), so unfortunately for you, I am showing you some more things that will be in the shop (and gorgeous rooms). Above is a Bed range from Lazybones we will have. This is stunning. I love the room too, beaded boards, iron bed and creamy vintage inspired linen...yum!

image - Nancy Fishelson

This photo is nothing to do with the shop, I just love Nancy's work. I could curl up on the Sofa and have a Nana nap right about now. Oh, we will have those long cushions though.

image - Nancy Fishelson

More Nancy. Her styling prowess in impeccable. I love stone ware and have a small collection, though it doesn't look as lovely as in this antique dresser. Forks etc have to be away at all costs with the two boys about...dart practise (with each other) would not be far away!!

image - Acland
This range is from a New Zealand company, Acland. They have a beautiful range. I am still undecided on this though. I must admit, I have become a fan of a hit of red here and there.

image - Lazybones

This knot blanket is high on the list of things to order. I just love the photo...French, relaxed with a hint of Vintage...sublime. Ness xx

They are on their way!

I am so excited to finally have some stock coming from an actual supplier, I had to show you all a few. I adore these hanging 'Pod' lights, and I think I will be getting some of those for the outdoor area seeing that Spring, and the entertaining season is around the corner.
These bowls are so versatile. I have imagined them with a cluster of tea lights, some floating flowers and candles, the obvious choice of fruit, and Autumn leaves (that's miles away yet), plus loads more. They are mosaic tiles on a generous size plate/bowl...love them.

How could I not get some letters? These are Aluminium. I have thought of the word I want for the shop, Vintage. What do you think?
These balls would look great in the fireplace with the Neem Balls I posted about a little while ago. The candles would bounce light off the glass.
My new favourite Hurricane light (I have a thing for them). An indoor/ outdoor piece I think. I hope you all had a lovely weekend. I didn't get to do much...Oh! I did change the Living room around! Ness xx

Have a great Weekend

What a lovely room. Sunny, bright...and white!
I am hoping to bring you some great posts next week of things I have picked up for the shop.
Let's just hope my Camera hangs in there!
I will also be trying to convince Mic to move some rooms around in preparation
for the all white makeover...and sewing...and Spring cleaning still.
Wish me luck and have a great Weekend.

If anyone knows where this photo is from or it is yours, please let me know...I forgot! Ta.

French Ecclectic

Welcome to the whimsical world that is Ici Et La. A store here is Australia that has a wonderful array of French influenced anythings for your Home. Their site is full of eye candy, although I could only show a few. This table setting above, complete with French basket is something I would imagine in a little town in Provence. I would think it had a bike out the front with a basket full of flowers...and a bread stick.

I am a sucker for any letters, wood, zinc, metal, even plastic. These are divine. I know of a store here that has the word 'Den', all in capitals and the letters have been aged to look like the cream/white paint is starting to rust and flake off. I am deciding what to have in our store...no idea yet!

My Sister would love this boat, probably not in the house though. It would make a great sand pit for the kids, a huge flower box or, you could add a piece of glass to the top and have some bench seats around for an outdoor setting. What do you think?

I plan to have some chairs on our shop wall (more to do with space than visual styling). I'm wondering if that is the top of a beautiful Louis chair in the background.

Everyone can do with a mannequin I think. A display for just about anything. I'm keeping my eye out on Ebay for one to put in the shop, or two!
Have a great day. Ness xx

Glorious Rooms, Beautiful Style.

image - Brad Ford

What an entrance. The room as a whole is stunning, and shows of the balustrade beautifully. I really like the quirky little side table thing next to the chair in the foreground...different.

image- Nancy Fishelson.

Country at its finest. I can totally picture this room nestled in an old American Saltbox, complete with a red barn and cute cupola on the roof.

This photo is actually from The Olive Grove Retreat, in Victoria NSW that I have posted on before. Click here to have another look-see. I adore French styling, especially the white, fawn and muted tones they effortlessly put together.

Where does one come by that gorgeous fabric on the sofa? Oh, I LOVE this room. Everything works. I would cover the footstool though in a bleached ticking stripe.

image - House Beautiful

White beaded walls do wonders to old homes, as we have found with our own renovations. It has worked well here too. Lots to love here, the basket, that ice green throw, the carpet/rug, nightlight....Ok, I'll shut up now. Have a great day. xx

How Tweet!

This is my new favourite find of the moment at etsy.
It is a range of fabric and paper birds by Cotton Bird Designs.
They are so cute, about 10cms tall and 10cms wide(to tail).
These two are made with silk and cotton. What a nice gift.

Blue Bird

Music Bird Book Home

What a team! Made out of recycled book covers, book pages and vintage fabrics. This one can be hung on a wall and fits 2 of the little birds...how tweet!

The Flight Of The Moth....

I know wall decals have been done to death, but I love these from Erayo. They look great against the concrete wall...by the way, love the sofa too.

Now these I think would look great in my shop for our hand made jewelry range (what do you think Mel?). They are old Doctors cabinets from Mothology, recycled into quirky storage pieces.

Also from Mothology, is this antique Commode I would love to dress with a huge white ironstone jug and Hydrangeas, a Zinc letter and a small black Pocket Watch Clock. It would look beautiful against crisp white walls.

Oh, I love these hanging balls. Imagine these in a cluster of 5, hanging from an old tree with a candlelit Picnic under - beautiful! We will be getting something similar in our store, but in white and fawn clay. Same shape, just clay...stay tuned for those. image-mothology

Lotus candle holders would light a path. Maybe to the picnic. I would love them around the bath, or beside a pool to catch the light off the water. image-Mothology

What a lovely way to store your bills to be paid, I wouldn't mind it so much then. A catchall for all those little bits you can't be bothered to put away right now.

image-Mothology

These Neem balls are great. They come in huge sizes too. I would love some to put in one of our un-used Fireplaces, with tea lights scattered between them. Well that's my wish list for today. I could have posted a million and one photos from Mothology, but you will just have to check them out for yourself...enjoy. Ness xx

Cotton Love...

I adore this Home, which belongs to Susan Shellers, who owns the delicious homewares store Cotton Love.

This hallway is stunning. It reminds me off own own home. OH! Guess what? I think I have talked Mic (Hubby) into an all white make over...yay!

I am currently tracking down this very Picasso print (among others) to display in our Bedroom. If anyone knows of it's where abouts, please email me. I have a new respect for Cyclamen now I have seen them in these Terracotta tubs on the table.
This room is sophisticated, without loosing the Family feeling it has...a warmness in all the white. Beautiful

There is something about the raw materials, being uncovered, tacks and all that fits well with this space. If I tried it, it would look like I was waiting for the Upholsterer to come and collect it!

This room is gorgeous too! The old clock is what Susan's Children learned to tell the time on. How great is that. The Parquet flooring in the Dining area, along with the wood in the Kitchen floor where all given a special bleach-type finish which looks superb against the chairs, clock, mirror frame and counters....I love this Home.
